COVID 19: Update July 2021

As an Optical Practice we are an NHS health care setting and will continue to follow current Government advice and procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.

Please do not attend the practice if you are experiencing any coronavirus/COVID-19 symptoms such as high temperature, new continuous cough or a loss of taste or smell OR if you or a member of your household or your bubble is waiting for the result of a COVID-19 test.

In order to maintain social distancing within the practice we are continuing to operate by appointment only.

Please call 01473 252026 to book or let us know what you need (contact lenses, solutions etc). We can take payment over the phone and arrange a time for collection.

Arrive as close to your appointment time as possible, in order to maintain social distancing within the practice we are not able to let you in until it is safe to do so.

When you arrive for your appointment please ring the doorbell in the porch, we will be looking out for you and come and let you in as soon as possible.

We will:

  • Ask you to sanitise your hands on arrival
  • Check your temperature
  • Ask you to wear a face mask/covering at all times within the practice.

To help us maintain social distancing within the practice please do not bring anyone with you unless it is essential, if you are bringing a child for an eye examination please do not bring any other children with you who do not have an appointment booked.
If you do need to bring somebody with you to your appointment they will be required to come into the consulting room with you for your test.

Face masks/coverings

We currently require all patients (including children) to wear a face mask/covering within the practice and for the eye examination.

The eye examination requires contact within one metre and face masks/coverings reduce risks to our practitioners and patients. Even if you would normally be considered exempt from wearing a face covering in other shops we would ask that you wear one for your sight test due to the close contact and length of exposure involved.

If you feel you will not be able to wear a face mask/covering even for the short time required to perform the eye examination please let us know. It will be at the discretion of the examining optometrist whether they will agree to perform an eye examination without a face mask/covering being worn.
